چکیده

Abstract We present a species distribution model (SDM) of Fagopyrum esculentum (buckwheat) in China using data and estimates for the past based on palaeoclimatic reconstructions. Our potential area suitable buckwheat cultivation over last 8,000 years, with northeast consistently showing highest suitability, providing insights discrepancy between location earliest archaeobotanical records its origins southwest biogeographic genetic data. The suggests little to no variation time spatial extent cultivation. In northern parts China, limits ecological niche largely fall within borders study area, while west it never extends into main Tibetan plateau, explaining lack fossil evidence from Central Asia. southwest, overlaps modern which supports this direction as viable route westward dispersal. comparison prediction sites indicates that environmental occupied remained stable time. This may contrast dispersal pattern characterised by continuous adaptations new environments facilitated human activity, be suggested other major minor crops.

Climate Change and Effects on Vegetation in Veracruz, Mexico: an Approach Using Ecological Niche Modelling

According to the last report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, human activities are the main responsible for global warming due to the increase in the atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases. This process is already causing changes in the geographical distribution of species as well as alterations in phenology. With this background, it is interesting to study the expected ...

A Maximum Entropy/Ecological Niche Modeling Prediction of the Potential Distribution of Leischmaniasis under Climate Change

Leishmaniasis is a life-threatening disease caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Leishmania and is transmitted by the bite of several species of sand fly (subfamily Phlebotominae). Global climate change has the potential to alter the distribution of these insect vectors. Here I use maximum entropy (maxent) ecological niche modeling (ENM) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(I...
